ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Melissa White Boyer.

I created this space as a place to unpack the parts of life that don’t come with a script—raising a rare child, facing a cancer diagnosis, building businesses, and trying to stay grounded through it all.

Writing became a way to process, reflect, and connect. My hope is that these words help you feel seen, supported, and a little less alone.

Real Life, Unfiltered, and Full of Purpose.

I’m Melissa White, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. I’m a wife, mom of three incredible children, and an entrepreneur with a passion for sales and leadership development. I’ve spent the last decade navigating the challenges of raising my son, who has a rare genetic disorder. This journey has taught me more than I could have imagined about resilience, strength, and the power of hope.

Alongside family life, I’ve built a business I’m proud of—with more in the making—and co-founded a nonprofit that uplifts families navigating rare diagnoses. I’ve had the privilege of consulting on large-scale sales campaigns for major companies, while also mentoring young professionals as they grow into confident leaders. Through every chapter, I’ve come to deeply believe in the power of growth, grit, and guidance.

This year has brought its own challenges, as I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy and reconstruction. But I’ve learned that even the darkest moments can reveal new light. I am more determined than ever to make a positive impact—whether it’s through my work, my nonprofit, or my upcoming book inspired by my son’s journey.

This blog is a place for me to share the stories, lessons, and experiences that have shaped who I am today. From self-development and overcoming obstacles, to tips on business, leadership, and finding strength in adversity—I want this space to be a place of inspiration and support for anyone facing challenges of their own.

Thank you for being here. I hope you find something that resonates, encourages, and inspires you.

Philanthropy

In addition to sharing my personal stories and reflections here, I’m also the co-founder of Rare Genes Movement, a nonprofit created to support families navigating life with a rare genetic diagnosis.

What began as our family’s search for answers turned into a mission to help others feel less alone.

Through storytelling, advocacy tools, inclusive resources, and awareness campaigns, we’re working to create a world that sees every rare child and their family.
